Why Your Very First Million is NOT the Hardest to Make
If you are one of the people who dreams to become a millionaire someday, then you may have heard that “the first million is the hardest to make.”
Do you honestly believe that?
Yes? No?
Whatever your answer is, read on.
Let me illustrate a point
For an average working professional who earns around PhP25,000 net income a month, the very first million he/she will make will come in just three years and one month. Agree?
Let’s do some basic math, 1,000,000 / 25,000 = 40
In one year, employees receive 13 months worth of salary, correct?
So that means that three working years has a total of 13 * 3 = 39 months of salary.
The month after the third year of working, you have already made your very first million!
Was that hard? All you did was work for three years and you already made your million.
It’s not how much you make, it’s how much you keep
However, we have those things that we call expenses. Hopefully, you have already learned to pay yourself first anytime you receive any money. But still, we don’t save the whole amount that we receive, right?
That’s why I don’t believe that the first million is the hardest to MAKE.
In my opinion, the first million is the hardest to KEEP.
Do you notice the difference?
You can MAKE that first million in a short span of time but it’s up to you if you can KEEP it.
How do you KEEP the first million? You just have to have a few disciplines:
The discipline to pay yourself first whenever you receive money.
The discipline to consistently invest a portion of your earnings.
The discipline to delay gratification.
The discipline to regularly give away a portion of what you earn.
The discipline to grow yourself to become a person that can KEEP a million pesos.
But, here’s the good news.
Do you want good news?
Of course you do!
You can develop those necessary and crucial disciplines because you control your own actions!
Or maybe you just need a financial coach (like me!) to help you with your current financial disciplines 🙂
The best time to start your discipline was yesterday. But you can still develop and master your self-discipline starting today.
Act now, grow yourself, find a financial coach, attend seminars, read books and surround yourself with positive and supportive people. I believe that you can and will be a true self-made millionaire!
Don’t forget to share this with your colleagues and future millionaire friends!
To our success in all areas of life,
